This meant you'd often find yourself walking behind a pair of costumed space barbarians in GWAR-ish outfits and carrying laser rifles, or a vampire LARPer in fishnets and cleavage, only to pass a pristine family of five in their best Sunday outfits coming the other way... Against the faux-midieval trappings, it was wonderfully cognitively dissonant.

(Phenomicon 2 was also the greatest con ever, a glorious mix of weirdness. Thanks soever much for making it possible.)Mazoolahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02909319556804856589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086064253442964633.post-3782373117921737762021-02-15T06:52:58.474-08:002021-02-15T06:52:58.474-08:00DUNFEY*DUNFEY*Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08415865664354094097noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086064253442964633.post-67372987727599694032021-02-15T06:52:10.674-08:002021-02-15T06:52:10.674-08:00It was then called Dungey Atlanta HotelIt was then called Dungey Atlanta HotelAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08415865664354094097noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086064253442964633.post-10083622673619566202021-02-15T05:15:11.841-08:002021-02-15T05:15:11.841-08:00This was my first Real job after graduating high s...This was my first Real job after graduating high school back in 1979, I was the telephone operator. I remember the night club Tingles. This was a beautiful hotel. Not only that .. ...That place was a for real dump . Not only that .. a hot bed for vice kicking your doors in all hours of the night . Everything from armed robberies going on in rooms to prostitution to dealing guns and drugs you name it went in there . I lived there in and off almost two years and mostly rent free as one of the managers and I had a deal going If you paid security well they'd not only look the other wAy but warn you when a sting was coming and this was back in 98-00. The last few months before it closed they were letting us all live free there . I'll never forget I heard a huge bunch of noise in front of my motel door I opened it ( a man was screaming for help) I saw like 5 or 6 " brothers " stabbing one " brother " ( how messed up is that ) ... I normally don't get involved but turns out my ex sister in law knew the victim so I went screaming for help . Well it was obvious to me that the security I went to must b getting paid off by the stabbers so I got someone else in security there .. got Lisa and David and we kept him alive . The man was dying waiting in the ambulance from multiple stab wounds .. he was saying to Lisa," I'm so cold " shaking uncontrollably as she held him in a wet sheet to keep the bleeding from continuing and I had to bolt them as I heard the sirens I had warrants ... but I'll never forget how I was forever changed by that . It was like he was put in my path fir a reason because I'm sorry yellow black green purple I just can't watch a person get tag teamed and stabbed to death like that it's fucked up low down dirty cowardly shit .. & had I not gotten Lisa he would have died because I did not know how to help him but I knew she would . I remember that place being fucked up like that . Didn't know it was still standing .
